BIO
Born into a Tibetan refugee family in Nepal and educated in India, Gyatso Chuteng immigrated to the U.S. in 2005 to pursue his studies in Interior Design and Interior Architecture in San Francisco. After graduation, Gyatso joined BAMO, a leading interior design firm in San Francisco and worked there for many years where he gained solid foundation and exposure into the real world or design, art and architecture. In 2014, he moved to New York City to pursue further opportunities in the design career as well as explore the unparalleled art scene of New York. While working for another leading interior design firm, Gyatso pursued his art career more seriously by dedicating more time and in 2018, he held his first solo exhibition marking a significant milestone in his artistic career.
He has participated in many group exhibitions, most notably “Imago Mundi" an international group exhibition that debuted in Venice Biennale, 2013.He also serves on the advisory board for the Rubin Museum of Art. This involvement reflects his deep passion for art and his commitment to supporting and promoting his cultural heritage.
